Generally, the spring months of March, April, and May are very dynamic. Weather conditions can vary greatly from year to year. Because spring is a transition between winter and summer, this is a remarkable time.
As the snow melts, days get longer and warmer, plants and trees begin another cycle of growth. Mark your calendars for the first Saturday in May for Fishing Season, opening weekend.

The summer months are prime time for outdoor recreation here in Wisconsin northwoods. From fishing to camping to hiking, there are a variety of activities available.
Family picnics and class reunions are popular, as well as many baseball games. ATV Trail riding is another fun activity. Local clubs ask that everyone stay on the designated trail routes.
The Horse Camp, just east of Rib Lake recently opened on Taylor County Forest lands. This is another nearby location for horse enthusiasts to explore and have fun.

Enjoy the Fall Colors, driving on historic Rustic Road Number 1, exploring Camp 8 ATV Trails, and hiking on the Ice Age Trail. There are many ways to enjoy and appreciate the great outdoors in the fall.
The annual deer hunting season provides more opportunites for outdoor enthusiasts. A reminder that ALL hiking and ski trails are CLOSED during the gun deer hunting season.

Cross Country Ski trails, the Ice Age Trail, snowshoeing, ice fishing on Rib Lake, Camp 8 ATV Routes, Snowmobile Trails are all here for your enjoyment.
